Every paper you keep,
found by one word.

Paperkeep is a free Android document scanner that reads your receipts, invoices, IDs and contracts on the phone itself. Find any of them later by a word printed inside it, and see what is about to expire before it does.

How it works

Scan.
Read. Find.

A drawer of papers is only useful if you can find the one you need. Paperkeep reads every page as you save it, files it under the right heading, and remembers every word, so the warranty card or the rent agreement is a search away.

01

Scan

Edges found and straightened automatically, many pages to one document, or up to 20 photos from the gallery.

02

Read

On-device OCR pulls the text from every page, then sorts and titles the document for you.

03

Find

Search by any word on the page, and filter by category or by what expires soon.

Inside the app

A scanner
that reads.

Search inside every scan

Any word on any page, with prefix matching, so insur finds insurance, and a snippet around the match.

Sorted for you

Receipts, invoices, IDs, contracts and notes, each titled from the shop or company name. Change any guess with a tap.

Expiry and due dates

Dates labelled Expiry, Valid until, Due, Renewal or Best before, with the days left and an Expiring soon filter.

PDF export

Reorder or delete pages, then save an A4 PDF wherever you choose. Single-page PDFs are always free and clean.

How it is built

Read on the phone.
Kept on the phone.

Text recognition on the device

ML Kit reads each page through Google Play services. Nothing is uploaded to be read, and no account is ever needed.

No camera permission

The document scanner runs inside Play services, so the app itself never asks for the camera.

Native Android

Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with a local database that indexes every word for full-text search.

Encrypted backup you control

One backup file, encrypted on the phone with AES-256 and a password only you know, saved wherever you choose.

Common questions

Questions about Paperkeep, answered.

Is Paperkeep free?

Yes. Paperkeep is free on Android and supported by ads, with no subscription and no sign-up. Single-page PDFs are always free and never watermarked. Multi-page PDF export is free three times a day; after that, a short ad unlocks that document for good, or it exports with a small Made with Paperkeep note.

Does Paperkeep upload my documents?

No. Scanning, text recognition and sorting all run on your phone, and you never need an account. The only thing that can leave the phone is a backup you choose to make, and it is encrypted on the device with AES-256 and a password only you know before it is saved or uploaded.

Which languages can Paperkeep read?

Paperkeep reads Latin-script text, such as English, French, Spanish and German, with on-device OCR. Every word it finds becomes searchable, so a receipt, an invoice or a contract can be found later by any word printed on it, not only by its file name.

How does Paperkeep find expiry dates?

It looks for dates printed next to a label such as Expiry, Valid until, Due, Renewal or Best before, so an issue or purchase date is not mistaken for an expiry. Each document then shows how many days are left, and an Expiring soon filter puts the next month first.

Built the same way for clients

We design and build this kind of software for businesses in Hyderabad, and hand over the code, the accounts and the docs.
